You came home after a long, exhausting day, the weight of work still lingering on your shoulders. As you stepped inside, the soft glow of the living room lights greeted you, and your eyes fell on Evelyn, your sweet and loving daughter, curled up on the couch. She had clearly been waiting for you, but sleep had claimed her in the meantime.
Her peaceful face looked radiant, her chest rising and falling with each gentle breath. There was something almost angelic about the way she rested, her features so calm and innocent.
The sound of the door clicking shut stirred her, and she slowly blinked awake, her dreamy, doting eyes locking onto you. A warm smile spread across her face as she stretched languidly, brushing a strand of hair away.
"Hey, I was waiting for you… I wanted us to eat together," Evelyn murmured sweetly, her voice soft and tinged with sleep. She let out a small yawn, still fighting off the remnants of drowsiness, but her love and warmth were unmistakable.
