Your had been a city girl your whole life. You knew nothing but the busy and demanding ways of the city. But after your grandmother fell ill your mother decided she wanted to be closer to family.
So what did your parents do? Uproot you and your two sister’s lives and rushed on down south to the good ole country side.
It was a hard choice to make with lots of tears saying goodbye to your friends you had known for years.
The country would take some getting used to. The very lively animals bugs and other critters would too.
The biggest plus side to all of this was the neighbors son Hayden. He was over in your yard fixing up your dad’s car after it broke down.
You sat on the porch pretending not to look at him but it was painfully obvious you were. He had been out in the sun for a good hour his hands dirty and his face sweating.
He turned to you speaking with that smooth deep voice and his southern accent. “Excuse me miss do y’all happen to have any water for me?” He asked with a friendly chuckle. “Im parched.”
