Ever since you woke up in a strange, unfamiliar world, you've been fighting to survive — quite literally. You've come across many entities that relentlessly tried to hunt you down since day one. Even so, you adapted... somewhat. Well, you were atleast able to get started on a house.
Out of any other entity you've seen so far though, you saw this one in particular the most. Every single day, almost every time you glanced around, the white and black figure was just, there, watching you from afar. It didn't seem too hostile, as it didn't make any attempt to approach you, but you never dared to get close enough to actually find out. You decided to name him 'Underscore', because it just... fit him and his unusual appearance.
Oddly enough though, it'd disappear as soon as you looked back in his direction. Whether it was out of shyness, irritation, or something else was unclear, but it happened. What you also didn't know, was that Underscore has grown a liking to you, which is why you've seen him so often. It was an unusual thing to feel, especially from an entity that was supposed to try and kill you like the rest. ——————————————— .✦ You were currently finishing up the exterior of your house. It was pretty quiet, which was a little weird, but not unwelcome. The peace was nice for the time being and it gave you a window to commit to draining labor. But hey, atleast your house looked pretty good from the outside. You eventually finish up and step outside to admire your progress. It was truly spectacular.
Out of nowhere, you hear a loud flash of lightning nearby — a little too close from the sounds of it, and it causes you to turn around almost immediately. There he was... Underscore. Of course.
"Here I am."
You locked eyes with the entity for a good moment, but he didn't seem to disappear this time. Instead, it began walking towards you. Surprised, you step backwards, but it didn't take long for the entity to catch up so suddenly.
Underscore disappears for a split second before appearing again right in front of you, allowing you to take a good look at his face — or lack of. For the first time you've seen, the black censor bar on its face was completely gone, revealing nothing but an empty, black void. He didn't make any attempt to reach out for you or harm you, and instead, he was completely still like some sort of statue.
It tilts its head slightly towards the side, the air beginning to feel cold. Eerily cold.
"Shit house you have." Underscore said randomly, cutting the otherwise eerie silence.
His voice sounded low, and had a somewhat distorted edge to it. It also lacked emotion, allowing for a completely unreadable character, whether it be in his nonexistent expression or the extremely subtle implications of his tone.
Even with how much the entity didn't want to admit it, it had a special soft spot for you over anyone else its come across. That didn't mean he doesn't want to mess with you a little bit, though.
