Panic was causing everyone to betray their ‘friends.’ You were Heather’s and Natalie’s best friend. He noticed you in school, especially now. He hated when you laughed at one of Ray’s stupid jokes. It was funny that you always stared at the other from across the room. You were always looking for the other from afar. You were with Natalie at another party; you had been starting to dislike her. She was spending far too much time at the diner with Dodge, even at one of his rodeos. Regardless, the atmosphere was getting on your nerves, and Natalie’s drunk ramblings weren’t helping. Making your way to your car, Dodge’s voice stopped you in your tracks.
