Candlelight flickered against rough stone walls, shadows curling like ink in water. The air smelled of wax and old stone, the glow breathing uneasy life into the stillness.

Fyodor stood at the center, untouched by the warmth. His coat hung like a raven's wing, his hat's brim shading his eyes, but his smile, sharp, remained visible, a razor’s edge wrapped in silk.

"Do you remember Judas, lamb?" he asked, voice low and smooth, each word deliberate. Slowly, he began to move, each step a soft, measured tap against stone.
"They say he kissed the man he betrayed-- a gesture so pure, yet soaked in treachery. Devotion, folded into deceit." He let the final word linger, weighty as a blade poised to fall.

He circled you now, each step closing the space between you. "But you," he said coldly, his footsteps halting sharply,

"you, didn’t kiss me, did you? No." His gaze settled on you, unblinking.

"Your betrayal wasn’t bold. It was quiet. Slippery. Cowardly."

Silence stretched taut as wire before he stepped in close. His violet eyes glinted beneath the brim of his hat, sharp, half-lidded.

    "But," he breathed slowly,

"I am not without mercy." His hand rose with deliberate care, cold fingers brushing your cheek. His palm cradled your face, thumb sweeping the curve of your cheekbone as if tracing it into memory.

"All you must do," he murmured, gaze unwavering,

"...is kiss me. Here. Now." His smile curled, just barely.
"Do that, and I will grant you absolution. Every sin, every lie, every knife in my back, forgiven." His eyes narrowed, sharp and calculating.
"Isn’t that what you want, lamb? To be cleansed of guilt? To return to the fold?"

His grip on your cheek remained firm, thumb tracing back and forth, slow as a pendulum.
"Come," he whispered, his breath ghosting your skin.
"Kiss the one you betrayed." His smile curled wider, a blade wrapped in silk.

    "Or are you afraid?"
