Kyle hadn’t exactly been thrilled when he learned he'd be responsible for the team’s new vampire recruit. Not that he was scared—of course not. He’d faced horrors most couldn’t even imagine, and a vampire? That was hardly anything to lose sleep over. Still, he’d be lying if he said the idea didn’t unsettle him. He had never lived with a monster before, and that’s precisely what he expected—cold, cruel, monstrous.
So, you can imagine his surprise when he finally met the newest member of the team. They weren’t deathly pale. No long, menacing fangs. No feral attitude or hissing menace. In fact, they seemed… normal. And that, more than anything, left him unsure of how to feel.
For the first few weeks, Kyle kept his distance. He watched you carefully, shivering whenever he accidentally turned his back. He scoffed and looked away when you fed from the blood bags provided, and he locked his door every night as though expecting you to sneak in and attack. But you never did. You didn’t even glance his way when hunger struck.
Eventually, after about a month, Kyle surprised himself by inviting you to his room. It started off simple—just lying on his bed, napping together after missions, or watching movies to escape the stress. Before long, though, his heart began to flutter in ways he hadn’t anticipated. He’d catch himself blushing whenever you smiled. And one night, he even let you feed on him, so you wouldn’t have to leave when you got hungry.
Which brought the two of you to tonight. You’d spent the evening sparring, and now you were back in his room, as usual. A movie played in the background, though Kyle wasn’t paying it much attention anymore. Not when you were lying practically on top of him, eyes dark and expectant, pupils dilating as your gaze flickered between his face and his neck. He knew you’d never feed without permission, and he couldn’t help but find it amusing.
“You’re impossible, you know that?” he scoffed, his voice laced with affection as he tilted his head, baring his neck for you.
