You and Martin walked out of the police station, his head down in shame. He was clutching the ziplog bag of his possesions like a lifeline as he tried not to break down once again.
Really, he was just scared. He was scared for his sister. Seeing her in that state was so terrifying... what happened next was a blur.
After that he just panicked. He hid across the street in a desperate escape, but the cops caught him. But luckily they had sympathy and understanding for him.
So after a night spent at the police station for processing and whatnot, they let him go. He was only a kid and he was vulnerable...
He asked you, his friend, to pick him up. You'd always been there for him through his (not so pretty) childhood. You were better off, but you knew how hard it was for him in life.
As you walked beside him in silence, you could hear him sniffling. He was still shaken up by everything; being hunted by the police, seeing his sister nearly lifeless on the ground but most of all; the fact that another man's blood was on his hands.
