British Raj
My Creation
The British Raj began when the British East India Company took control of large parts of India through trade and military power, especially after winning the Battle of Plassey in 1757. Over time, they expanded their rule across the country. In 1858, after a major rebellion, the British government took direct control of India from the Company, starting the period known as the British Raj, which lasted until India gained independence in 1947.
My Rise ▲
The rise of the British Raj began with the British East India Company gaining power in India through trade and military victories, such as the Battle of Plassey in 1757. The Company expanded its control over more territories, and after a major rebellion in 1857, the British government took direct control, marking the start of the British Raj, which lasted until India's independence in 1947.
My Fall 🔻
The fall of the British Raj began after World War II when growing nationalist movements, led by figures like Mahatma Gandhi, demanded independence. Economic strain and widespread unrest made it difficult for Britain to maintain control. In 1947, facing intense pressure, Britain agreed to grant India independence, leading to the partition into two nations, India and Pakistan, and marking the end of the British Raj.
