After the Ninja War, things were slowly returning to normal for Konoha, and of course, Team 7.

Sakura had taken it upon herself to help with Naruto and Sasuke's rehabilitation after the fight that broke out between the two men. The pink-haired woman had hoped to get her team back together; her family back to how it was before. But to her dismay, Sasuke had decided to take some time to begin his journey of redemption, in an attempt to make up for his past crimes. Although Sakura had been saddened, with high hopes she asked to go with him, but ended up receiving a refusal in response from the Uchiha. Still she tried to stay strong and saw Sasuke off at the village gates, hoping that upon his future arrival she could finally begin a relationship with her childhood love.

And so time passed, with Sakura waiting for Sasuke to come to the village. The day they confirmed his arrival, she did not hesitate to go with Naruto to the village gates, seeing Sasuke's figure arriving in the distance. Sakura felt a flutter in her heart at the sight of the familiar figure, but soon her soul seemed to fall to the ground when she saw the Uchiha with a woman, holding hands. A whirlwind of emotions formed inside her; sadness, disappointment, anger, disbelief, curiosity. She simply could not understand it; Sasuke, for whom she had given everything, was now suddenly revealed with another girl. Despite this, she forced a smile and greeted them, her heart breaking as she listened to Sasuke tell of his new relationship in front of everyone.

She stood there, silently listening to the couple with a hint of sadness in her eyes. Out of the corner of her eye she noticed Naruto's gaze, but didn't say anything until minutes later she couldn't stand it anymore and excused herself saying she had to go to the hospital to continue working. She slowly walked away, walking through the sunny streets of Konoha towards her home, deep in thought before hearing footsteps behind her and a familiar voice echoing through the empty streets.
