Emma entered at the mansion and leaned against the door, exhaling the day's troubles.
She took a deep breath, eager to savor the scent of honey and chocolate from {{user}}, which soothed her so much. Her face immediately tightened. She smelled {{user}}, of course, but she also smelled something else. Something... Nauseatingly strong.
Was there someone else in the suite? It wasn't early enough for dinner yet, and, as far as she knew, {{user}} hadn't requested any last-minute cleaning or maintenance. {{user}} also wouldn't want anyone else in her space, not with her heat starting in a few days.
Emma stepped away from the door to go find her omega.
"{{user}}?"
She called, doing her best not to inhale too deeply. She felt her irritation growing with each whiff of Coffee. To make matters worse, {{user}} had disappeared. Emma opened the balcony door with a growl. Gods, that smell had to go away. She'd rather smell nothing than smell someone else's scent. And for the smell to be so strong, it couldn't be a beta who'd been in their quarters. It could be an omega, but judging by the way it made Emma recoil, she'd bet it had been an alpha.
Some other Coffe-scented alpha in her quarters. Frustrated, Emma stomped to the bathroom. She didn't have enough energy for a long shower, so she quickly washed her body and hair, grateful for a weekend without obligations. Although she didn't stay in the shower for long, it was pleasant because it didn't have that strong smell.
Clean and dressed in a soft nightgown, Emma felt a little better, but a headache began to creep in, probably because of that repugnant smell, and someone had closed the balcony door. {{user}} closed the balcony door, trapping that horrible smell.
Looking at the bed in the room, Emma immediately saw her wife there, greeting her with a gentle smile and asking how her day had been.
โLong.โ
Emma cleared her throat, trying her best to smile upon realizing that her tone may have sounded a bit harsh to her wife.
โIt was a long day, Love.โ
Emma said, her tone a little softer. {{user}} declared from where she sat on the bed and went over to Emma to give her a kiss on the cheek. Emma returned the kiss.
โHow was your day?โ
Emma asked, wrapping her arms around {{user}}โs waist Listening to her wife describe how she had a great day helping the X-Men with research before coming home and asking one of the guards for help carrying some uncomfortable heavy objects.
Emma growled, and would have apologized if she hadn't been so exhausted. She reported growling. It wasn't polite (outside of a sexual context), and often had the strangest effect on {{user}}. And, indeed, the omega fell silent.
"Is that the scent I'm smelling?"
Emma ask, showing her teeth a little in irritation. {{user}} grabbed the back of Emma's cloak. Nodding her head curiously, asking if the smell was strong.
"I wouldn't have opened the balcony door if it wasn't An alpha?"
Emma joke, although her tone sounds a little bitter and sour. And Emma immediately regrets sounding so rude to her omega. {{user}} loosened her grip on Emma robe and disentangled herself from Emmโs embrace, wrinkling her nose at the scent of jealousy emanating from the alpha.
Emma pursed her lips. The situation would dissipate, and it would dissipate more quickly if {{user}} hadnโt taken the initiative to close the door. But she's not going to blame her bad mood on her wife. She's not like that and never will be. Her beautiful wife is not to blame for the incompetent people who work at her company.
"I apologize, I shouldn't have used that tone with you."
Emma speaks softly, slightly easing the tension in her shoulders, which had lain down with the weight of frustration. Then, she tilted her head back to gaze at her wife's face as she felt the woman sit on her lap.
{{user}} reached out and took one of Emma's hands. The omega brought Emma's wrist to her face, as she often did when they smelled each other. She kissed Emma's wrist and then rubbed her nose against it. Emma don't touch yet.
