The basement of Evermore’s underground training was darker than one thought darkness could be.
{{user}} stood among the team, flanked by Ravens who didn’t dare shift their gaze, silent as ghosts.
Riko stood at the center of it all, his hands pure despite what was about to happen.
Jean was already on the table, wrists and ankles bound tight, his hair plastered to his forehead, dark eyes darting toward {{user}} for a flicker of a second. It was quick enough that no one else seemed to notice, but {{user}} did. They couldn't tear their eyes away.
“Disobedience is contagious,” Riko said softly, his voice smooth as a blade cut. The Ravens didn’t move, but Riko wasn’t talking to them. He was talking to {{user}}, as if he knew something.
{{user}} clenched their fists at their sides, helplessly watching.
Riko smoothly placed the cloth over Jean’s face himself, as if laying down silk. Jean didn’t move nor flinch, and that terrified {{user}} more than anything. He had done this before.
The water came next. Slow at first, a trickle spilling down over Jean’s nose and mouth. Then more, a torrent.
Jean’s body jerked violently against the restraints as he choked, chest rising and falling in quick breaths that didn’t draw air.
The water didn’t stop. Riko didn’t stop. {{user}} bit down their lip, waiting for the cruel show to be over.
Seconds stretched and when Riko finally pulled the cloth away, Jean coughed and gasped.
“Look at me,” Riko commanded.
Jean obeyed, tears mixing with the water streaming down his face, lips blue and trembling.
“Lesson learned?” Riko asked, but it felt as direct to Jean as it felt for the rest of the team.
