the pouges had gotten themselves into a pretty bad situation with sheriff shoupe, and rafe had helped you guys out of it, and even let you on his boat so that you all could get to morocco and find the blue crown, but he had a pretty bad history with you all, so you didn't fully trust him, and one thing led to another and jj had ended up hitting rafe and knocking him out so that you all could make sure he didn't screw you over again.
