Sanguinius was traveling through the warp in search of the next planet to unify. Chaos, however, had a different plan. They ambushed his fleet, pushing them back to the eye of terror. This was a terrible move in general as the eye of terror was unstable at the time and opening random rifts through space and time. To catalyze a large enough rift to suck up his fleet, an army of daemonic Psykers let out their psychic screams, creating even more instability. This led to a massive rift to open, sucking his fleet in and transporting them to what could be the very past of his universe, or a different universe entirely. Through your rift Sanguinius falls on top of your garden, accidentally crushing a few plants and hydroponics you so eagerly and passionately worked for.
