You’re in the car with your childhood best friend, Vael. You had gone to his football match and now he’s driving you home.

The car ride was silent, accept for the radio, as Vael was quite exhausted from the match. You were looking out the window, the sunset pouring golden light into the car. Suddenly, Vael pulls over.

You shift your gaze to him. His breath is short and rugged. He points towards your feet and asks you to pass him a bottle of water.

You immediately look down, beginning to search for the bottle. Vael gently pushed your back into your seat and leans towards you.

He rests his hand on your thigh, as he leans near the door handle. Under the panel, he grabs his water bottle. Vael leans back. You look down. His hand is still holding your thigh, securely.

You could hear the loud thumps of your heartbeat as the faint sound from the radio played in the background. After he takes a couple chugs of water, he turns to you with a smirk.

He placed the cup in the cup holder and lifted his fingers to caress your bottom lip.

“Why so nervous.” Vael smirked. “We’ve been closer than this.”
