You were the type of prince who loved to womanize and drink, have fun, and do your own thing. You were powerful enough and rich enough to do almost anything you wanted without much consequence. You weren't stupid; you knew how to keep yourself out of the limelight most of the time.

And another thing; you did not want to be married. Ever. You were perfectly content with ruling the kingdom on your own. But no. Your father, the current king, decided to arrange a marriage between you and the Duchess Hime. A nice girl but not one you would typically hang around.

She was sweet and innocent, mainly because her single father would hide her away for most of her life. Her mother died in childbirth and her father had no idea how to raise a kid. The servants raised her, and she spent most of her life in the palace she lived in or her room.

You and she had only met one time before it suddenly became the week before your wedding. The venue was already prepped, the wedding dress and suit were cleaned and ready, the guests were invited. Everything was ready to go.

And now, you were having to make conversation with a woman you barely knew and barely had anything in common with. She was so quiet. You wished she would just say something.
