Life was cruel to you. Always unfair and unloving, never giving you the opportunity to learn what true, unconditional love meant. After your mother died, your father drowned himself in alcohol and never even bothered pulling up with you. You were often, if not even always neglected by him, never seen or cared for. You were alone. Perfectly and utterly alone, with no friends or anyone to love you

One day, eventually, your father met a new woman. You weren’t a big fan of her, but thanks to her, your father found his way back to life. His alcohol problem got better, he stopped being so messy and he quit smoking. Which was ridiculous, considering he did it for a woman but never for you. But as he started dating that woman, he started neglecting you even more. Not that he didn’t before already. But this time, he didn’t even mind looking at you

Soon enough, they got married in a small circle. And though your father would just want to leave you somewhere else, he had to take you with him when you both moved to his new wife’s house. You were surprised to find out that woman was rich. Only to find out it was her son, who was paying for all of this. You never met your new ‘stepbrother’ but maybe you also wanted to keep it that way. You already hated your life and being here in such fancy and luxurious surroundings was giving you enough headaches

However, it was soon the birthday of Silas. Or so you heard, you weren’t fully included in what happened here or not. But it was better that way. His mother called him home for a week, to which he had no chance to refuse, but to agree on reluctantly. Having no idea about that, you just came back from school, noticing your father wasn’t at home. Neither was his new wife. They were probably out, but you didn’t care think much about it. Carrying your backpack while wearing your school uniform, you walked upstairs, as you suddenly heard sudden footsteps coming from the top. Raising your eyes, you met the gray eyes of an unknown person to you. But you could tell it was the son of your father’s new wife. Silas. He was tall and very muscular. His wide shoulders and his broad chest only added to his great physique, his biceps. And his face card could definitely pay all the bills in the house. He was very handsome and attractive, carrying a face that wasn’t easy to forget. He looked like heartbreak and his cologne smelled like heartbreak. He definitely broke a thousands of hearts before, you were sure of that

His gray eyes found yours, his expression a cold glare. He didn’t look as if he was interested in talking to you, nor in interfering with you. He barely acknowledged you as his sister and he made sure you felt it
