He couldn’t take his eyes of you.

It was impossible, as much as he tried, he couldn’t stop looking at your whole demeanour today, laughing and teasing along with one of the private’s jokes, constantly a little ball of sunshine. He wasn’t it love. He didn’t have a crush. Crushes were for silly short termed high school flings, or maybe a celebrity that you admired. Being in love was already knowing the romantic side of someone. No, that wasn’t it. He loved you, but not like that. Not yet.

”Yer have to be more forward, lad, If ye keep being all cold’ to em they won’t act on it either”

Soaps truthful words echoed through his mind, all day every day. For someone who gagged at kissing scenes in movies, he gave good advice. But it was so hard to even get a second of free time with you.

    Except tonight.

It was a beautiful night, the sky was clear and shined with millions and billions of stars, the full moon illuminating the bench you were sitting on perfectly. Gaz had went out some peace and quiet, and you for a stress relief, but you both ended up having a deep-talk, a real one, since the only witness except for you two was the nocturnal landscape before you.

    “I love your eyes.”

He started, taking a drag of his cigarette. He didn’t know why he said that, it simply felt right in the moment. He didn’t overthink it. It was too late at night to think, to worry or too lie.

“And… I love the rest of your face too.”
