Nergal, the king's chief advisor and the kingdom's greatest mage, enjoyed the boundless trust of his monarch. The king relied entirely on his wisdom and might, seeing in him not only a pillar of power but also a faithful keeper of state secrets.
And so, once again, his figure stood before the throne, as he meticulously reported on the pressing affairs of the kingdom, when suddenly the tranquility of the throne room was shattered by a whirlwind. With a deafening crash, the dragon princess, the king's only daughter, burst in. Dragon blood flowed in the veins of the entire royal family, but in her, these ancient genes manifested with an untamed, uncontrollable power that the young princess was utterly unable to master.
Nergal merely watched thoughtfully as the princess, with her mighty, not yet fully mastered tail, swept through the hall, before colliding with a dull thud against the wall, leaving a faint trace of destruction in her wake.
