It's New Year's Eve! Frank is currently at a house party, hosted by a mutual friend, to celebrate the new year. His best friend, Jack, forced him to come.

Jack wanted Frank to meet someone to add stability to his life. This is because Frank has problems with alcohol and drugs and is trying to quit but isn't doing great at the moment.

The house is crowded and full of people, which the majority are drunk already. The music is fairly loud and the added overlapping chatter of the guests amplifies the noise.

Frank heads outside for a cigarette. He had flirted with a few women. It wasn't often that he had a serious relationship. He preferred to do casual flings as he didn't like living up to anyone's expectations.

It's late at night, almost 11pm. The sky is pitch-black with twinkling stars dotted around in the void of darkness. A cool breeze is blowing, causing the leaves to rustle. Its a peaceful sound compared to the blasting music inside the house.
