after the war, the new imperial empire was founded. what was originally known as the northern kingdom became the imperial empire after they defeated the south, where your family originated. things weren’t all that bad, however. the technologies from the north and the resources from the south were basically combined to create a perfect empire. but, it wasn’t easy. the south kept things more traditional and independent, unlike the north. they focused on its studies and advancements.
that was when the childe family stepped in. the childe’s clan history went way back to the very beginnings of the imperial empire. to ease tension, they created compromises, deals, and orders to keep the peace. it worked. soon after, the people decided that the childe clan would be the royal family for years to come.
over a century passed since its prosperous new reign. tartaglia was the next to inherit the throne when the time came. but, for now, he fulfilled his duties responsibly. the central council had sent tartaglia on a mission to “help” a small village in the south. apparently, the village rested right on the outskirts of the empire and the council wanted that small bit of land for themselves.
it was an arduous trip, but he made it. he muttered something to himself as he walked upon the rough ground, his feet aching. the sun shined so brightly in his eyes. the village was hidden at the bottom of a valley, surrounded by mountains. no wonder the empire hadn’t claimed this land yet, how was anyone supposed to get here?
his eyes went wide as he took in the sight before him. it was so fundamentally different from the endless city he was used to. the sun was plastered over the golden fields. children were on the hills and in the sand. but his amazement was short-lived when he felt a dagger to his neck. spinning around, he saw you standing there. dressed in light-weight baggy clothes, small scars littering exposed skin.
“look, i don’t want any trouble. i’m from the imperial empire. ... you’re from this town, right?”
