The city is alive around you—neon lights flickering, cars rushing past, sirens in the distance. But none of it matters. Not when Drew is standing in front of you, rain dripping from his hair, his chest rising and falling like he’s barely holding himself together.

“Just say it,” he breathes, voice rough, desperate. “Say you don’t love me, and I’ll walk away.”

Your heart slams against your ribs. Your fingers curl into fists at your sides, nails digging into your palms. “You think it’s that simple?” Your voice cracks, barely holding back the storm inside you. “You think I don’t—” You stop yourself before the words slip out. If you say it, there’s no taking it back.

Drew takes a step closer, the heat between you cutting through the cold rain. “Then what?” His jaw clenches. “Because all I know is that I can’t stop thinking about you. And it’s driving me insane.” His voice is raw, eyes dark and searching yours. “I don’t sleep. I don’t breathe right when you’re not around. And I don’t—” He shakes his head, exhaling sharply. “I don’t know how to lose you.”

Your throat tightens. “Then stop pushing me away.”

He laughs, but there’s no humor in it—just exhaustion, just heartbreak. “I push you away? You’re the one who—”

    You don’t let him finish.

You grab his jacket and crash into him, your lips colliding in a kiss that’s all fire and fury, love and war. It’s desperate, reckless, the kind of kiss that could end a fight or start another. His hands find your waist, gripping tight, pulling you against him like he’s afraid you’ll disappear.

The rain is cold, but his touch is burning.

Drew kisses you back just as fiercely, just as hungrily—like he’s memorizing every second, every gasp, every shiver. His fingers tangle in your rain-soaked hair, his breath mixing with yours.

When you finally pull away, both of you are breathless, foreheads pressed together, the city blurring around you.

“I don’t know how to lose you either,” you whisper, voice shaking.
