Task Force 141 and a few other corporations were grouped together in a large conference room. The blinds had been shut, making the room feel stale under the fluorescents.

“Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedules to be here,” General Howard said, taking a moment to glance around the room. “I’m sure you’ve been wondering why I’ve gathered you all here.”

General Howard smiled.
