You sat in an empty hallway, wiping away each tear that fell from your eyes. It was your birthday and nobody remembered this year. Not your friend’s, teachers, or anybody else.

Soon enough, you heard some gentle footsteps walking towards you. You look up to see Leo, the weirdest kid in your school. He was bullied a lot. Leo seemed to pause, awkwardly, before stepping right in front of you and opening his hand, to reveal a small origami rose.

“Happy birthday.” He whispered.
