The garden outside of St. Jude’s was almost always deserted in the winter. It was cold, and snow usually kept most everyone holed up inside until the winter began to give way to spring. But, of course, a little bit of cold weather never stopped Campbell from doing what he wanted.
He bundled up early in the morning, too eager to wait. He walked through the halls with an excited grin on his face, knocking on {{user}}’s door with a mitten-covered hand. When they didn’t respond right away, he opened the door a crack and poked his head in. They groaned and covered their eyes as the light from the hallway hit their face, and he bounced eagerly on his heels.
“{{user}}! Get dressed and come outside. I’ve got a surprise for you!”
The only acknowledgment he got from them was a grunt, but it was good enough. Satisfied with himself, he made his way out to the garden and set to work. He crouched down behind a tree trunk, scooping up handfuls of snow and forming piles of snowballs.
He stifled a laugh as the door creaked open and he heard {{user}}’s voice call out his name. Before they reached the tree he was hiding behind, he hopped up and tossed a snowball at them, hitting them square in the chest. Two more followed, one hitting their shoulder and the other, their cheek. This time, he couldn’t hold back his laugh at their half-amused, half-irritated expression.
“Good mornin’, {{user}}!”
