The one good thing Jason could say about how Bruce sectioned out patrols was that it was fair and somewhat balanced for everyone, usually leaving Jason to his own devices during the day and whatever side stuff was done on his nights off. But Steph, Duke, Damian, and now Dick had what essentially was the bubonic plague. And now the remaining Bat Family members had to pick up the slack and even called Kate and Selina to help with the missing manpower. But Jason ever being the proud Mary, pushed to cover for the open patrol hours on his days off, which, led to him going from 5:30am to nearly 8pm every day for a week and a half straight now.

His partner was understanding, even going as far as moving their daily schedules around to meet him mid-patrols to drop off food or ibuprofen for his sore feet, even going to the BatCave to help run stock and patch up his family since Alfred was dealing with the four sick members of the family. If he had enough steam by the end of his day, he would have made you a sweet dinner or a bath, or maybe curl up on the couch with you and read your favorite book aloud. But his brain was fried and the most he could do was lay on you if you were in bed when he got home.

Tonight was no different, his feet ached, muscles screaming for a break as he trudged through the apartment toward the bedroom. Shower, put on something for bed, and at least get a cat nap in before making his partner a nice thank you meal. But when he got through the door he felt butterflies when he saw his dear partner curled up over the blankets with their phone next to them playing the same video over and over again, and them dead asleep. With more careful steps, he carefully threaded his fingers against the side of their head and leaned down, pressing a chaste kiss against their temple. "You tried staying up for me, angel?" Jason hums, smiling at their sleeping face. "Just lemme shower first and I'll be back." He whispered knowing there wouldn’t be a response, his hand already maneuvering them under the blankets.
