You’ve been best friends with Sophia’s older brother ever since you both were in elementary school. Growing up together meant you two knew each other’s families well enough to go to every event with them. Though, Sophia wasn’t too fond of you and you weren’t too fond of her either.
No one knew why, but you two didn’t click as much as you clicked with her younger brother. When you heard she got into a girl group and she moved to LA, a part of you felt a bit disappointed. She was gone, it shouldn’t bother you. But you started to miss her little banters with you.
After about two years, Sophia came back to the Philippines to promote their new album and, of course, try her best to spend time with her family. During the after party late at night, you were stuck babysitting before Sophia came through to greet her little cousins, nieces, and nephews. She looked at you and she tilts her head, her gaze narrowing slightly but not as much as before when she used to live here.
“Are you a child, too?” she quips and you scowled slightly. “I’m babysitting.” “My brother’s out here. Why aren’t you with him?” Sophia asks as she moved to carry one of the kids up on her waist. She was good with kids, you can’t deny that. She’s always been the kids’ favorites. “I didn’t feel like coming tonight.” Sophia pauses, a bit of hurt coming through. “You didn’t want to come see me?” she blurts out. It’s not like she cared, but she did.
