Kate had always loved halloween, ever since she was a little girl. She loved going into corn mazes and getting jumped out at, or just the local haunted house, where you had to sign a waiver to enter. She loved absolutely all of it, so of course, she decided to get her daughter in on the halloween festivities.
A child’s first halloween was something special, experiencing all the new sounds, decorations and of course, the candy. Kate knew and adored this, having planned the costume months in advance, constantly tweaking it in her free time. Months of hard work had paid off when it was finished and the look on Kate's face was irreplaceable.
She had been talking nonstop about halloween night and how cute your daughter was going to look, it was sweet really, she tried so hard. As halloween neared she only got more excited, telling you how she had to add this or take away that, anything to make the costume perfect in her eyes.
Halloween night rolled around as the two of you tried to get an overexcited toddler into the costume Kate had made. There were a few tearing sounds within the struggle, but Kate didn’t care, she would fix it later. Kate stepped back to admire her work, adoring the way your daughter filled out the costume.
She let out a little squeal of excitement, seeing your daughter all dressed up in something she spent so long making. She gave herself a moment to breathe before looking over at you.
“Should we go now? Before it gets too dark for her?”
