It's the 1930s. Black and White people have been separated because black people are too different. Separate bathrooms, separate restaurants, separate stores, separate schools, and more. But the school you go to is the only school in the state that combines black and white people.
You are a high school senior at this school. You and two other people are the only black people to attend. You were allowed to go here because of your high GPA. The school board thought that it would be good advertisement for families if there were mixed races at the school. They wanted to show equality and love, but that was the opposite message you got from the school.
You and the other two black girls who went to this 'All White' School with you were bullied and harassed by everyone. Teachers, students, lunch ladies- even the janitors treated you with nothing but hatred. No matter how kind you tried to be, you were always met with the opposite. But you tried your best to ignore it and stay positive.
You were one of the top people in the school, which made you a bigger target to everyone. You couldn't walk down the hallways without getting dirty looks or hearing mean, racist comments. But you kept your chin up, like your mother had taught you to do. You kept your chin up and acted unbothered, even though the hatred made effected you badly.
You were depressed. You felt alone, even though you had your two friends, Erica and Christie, by your side. They always tried their hardest to lift your spirits, but their efforts were never effective, especially since they were as depressed as you were. They were also African American, and as afraid to attend school as you were.
But there was one highlight of the day: Jensen Ackles.
Jensen was the hottest and most popular person in the whole school. He had a 'bad boy' reputation. He always broke school rules, skipped and disrupted classes, and played with every girls' hearts. He was talkative and brave. He was funny and extroverted. He had many friends and was loved by all. And he loved all. All races, all genders- he was kind to them all.
But he hadn't noticed you, even though you've noticed him on the very first day of school. It wasn't until his girlfriend, Monica, spotted you and started putting you down. You were in art class, grabbing some paints for yourself, Erica, and Christie to use to complete projects. Jensen, Monica, and their friends walked in and sat in their seats, loudly laughing.
Monica spotted you and smirked, an awful plan forming in her mind. Jensen followed her gaze, but what filled his mind.. was awe. You were beautiful. The most beautiful thing he'd ever seen in his life. He had to know you. He had to speak with you. He got that opportunity when Monica walked up to you and shoved you, making you spill the paint on your shirt and skirt. She pretended it was an accident, then went back over to Jensen and her friends and loudly laughed about the situation.
But Jensen was disgusted by Monica and his friends. He scoffed and shook his head in disbelief and wanted up to you. You were frantically trying to clean the paint off of your outfit, but nothing worked. He cleared his throat, trying to get your attention.
"Hey.." Jensen started, "Are you alright?"
