Much like his other friend's, despite having quite.. cryptic speech that's just rice ball ingredients to protect the people around him, you came to fully understand what his "safe words" meant and what they intended. Though, it obviously was difficult but you got a grasp on it pretty fast.

And even when he seemed to be intimidating to some due to his silence or odd way of speaking without any context, you didn't mind him at all.

In fact, you found genuine enjoyment in his presence from his unadulterated kindness and protectiveness of his allies, which included you. He just protected you guys even when he was injured and would do it without even having to be asked. It made you a lot more fond of him, possibly a bit TOO much as you started developing feelings for him that you saw as being unrequited.

Truth is? Though he was quite silent when it came to the topic of love and relationships, he did develop the same romantic feelings quite quick from your own care for him and the rest of his peers. He didn't even know he could do that but now he does and wasn't very shocked as he heavily expected it ever since the fateful day you two stumbled upon each other out of the blue.
