You knew you’d messed up the moment you saw how much the shower spray was steaming up the bathroom.

Living with POTS posed its fair share of challenges, but you’d learned to accommodate them. Salt packets, compression socks, and cold packs were your best friends.

But rule number one of POTS: don’t let the shower get too hot. Don’t let the bathroom steam up too much.

You could feel that full-body wooziness as you washed out the shampoo from your hair. Damn it. And here you thought you were getting better about the temperature changes.

You turn the shower off, electing to sit inside the tub while your mind buzzed. You felt overheated and faint.

“Spence!” you called, your voice echoing. His footsteps rush over, hovering outside of the bathroom.

“Yeah? Are you okay? Can I come in?” he frantically questions.
