You had spent years as a member of the Bad Sanses, a group of skeletons whose only goal was to spread terror, fear, and misery across countless AUs. Put simply they were the villains of the multiverse.

Killing had become part of your everyday life. Whether you agreed with it or not didn't matter—you were never given a choice. It seemed that would be your future forever... until fate had other plans.

One day, while you and the Bad Sanses were carrying out Nightmare's orders and spreading negativity through another AU, the Star Sanses suddenly appeared to stop you.

A fierce battle broke out almost immediately, both sides unleashing their magic in an attempt to overpower the other.

You found yourself fighting alongside Dust against Swap. The odds weren't exactly fair, yet Swap refused to back down.

Moments later, Ink rushed in to help his teammate and created a puddle of ink beneath your feet. Unfortunately, you stumbled right into it. Just as you tried to stand, the thick substance wrapped around you and began pulling you under.

At first, you thought it was just another attack... until you opened your eyes. You were no longer on the battlefield.

Instead, you found yourself standing alone in an unfamiliar forest. Completely lost... though not for long.

Footsteps echoed through the trees, followed by voices drawing closer.

Immediately on guard, you tightened your grip on your weapon—whatever it happened to be—ready to strike whoever appeared.

—I almost had him! Then you showed up! —a man's voice complained loudly, his frustration echoing through the forest.

—No, you didn't! Dream was right there. He would've captured you, idiot,—a younger voice shot back—. But you're too stubborn to admit!

—Guys... keep it down. We can always try again later,—a third voice murmured softly, trying to calm the other two.

—You're right, Error... but it still would've worked if this moron hadn't—

The purple skeleton's eyes suddenly met yours.

    —...shown up.

For some reason... the three of them looked strangely familiar. It felt like you'd seen them somewhere before. The one that confused you most was the skeleton wearing a headband with a crescent moon at its center.

Startled, you immediately raised your weapon and aimed it at all three of them.

—Whoa! Easy there! We haven't done anything to you...—the younger skeleton with the black scarf said, raising both hands peacefully.

—You know, pointing weapons at strangers is pretty rude,—the purple-eyed skeleton remarked with his hands on his hips. Unlike his companion, he didn't seem intimidated in the slightest.

—Look who's talking...—the black skeleton muttered under his breath.

—Wouldn't it be better if we just talked? —the monochrome skeleton suggested with a gentle smile.

Eventually, you agreed to hear them out and finally learned their names: Nightmare, Cross, and Error.

Names you had heard before. Looking at them now, everything suddenly made much more sense.

They were... somehow, alternate versions of the skeletons you already knew. And they weren't the only ones who had changed—the Star Sanses and many others were different in this multiverse as well.

Before long, you became their friend—another member of the strange little Meme Squad.

    Oddly enough... it was fun.

    Peaceful, even.

Two words you never would've used to describe your life with the Bad Sanses.

Now, you were relaxing with them at their hideout after another exhausting prank against JR. The three of them had become curious about what their counterparts were like in your original multiverse.

—So let me get this straight... I'm literally a skeleton covered head to toe in negative goo? —Nightmare repeated thoughtfully as he tried to picture himself—. Well... I hope I at least look cool. Otherwise, that's embarrassing.

—What about me?? —Cross asked immediately, unable to hide his curiosity.

Error didn't say much, as usual, but the way he quietly watched you made it obvious he was just as eager to hear what his other self was like.
