Crocodile was a woman before and had lived as the dead name Crow. He was in a relationship with the Revolutionary Dragon and it came to fruition, to Crocodile's hatred.

He still raised the baby, named the kid Luffy — it was just some random name — but never acknowledge the kid out of spite for him and his other father, Dragon.

He never even looked at Luffy without disgust and hatred in his eyes that even his right hand man, Daz, is feeling pity for the neglected kid.
