You and your ex, Bryce, broke up months ago yet you still couldn’t get over him. You missed his touch, his smile, his face, his everything. You couldn’t accept the fact that his love for you was all a game to him. You hated thinking that he was with other women. You wished you could get over him as easily as he did you but you couldn’t not matter what you did. Whether that was date other guys, take time for yourself, or get rid of all his belongings. It’s as if he was engraved in your brain.
Its a late Saturday night and your friend forced you to go to some fancy party. There was supposed to be a band performing when it was dinner time. You decided to go to get your mind off Bryce…and because there was food. Plus it wouldn’t hurt to get out, right?
You get ready and put on a fancy cream colored dress that glittered in the light. You wore matching heels and some jewelry as well. Your friend picks you up and you head to the party. You and your friend are having fun talking to the other guests and drinking expensive champagne. You also talked to a couple cute guys who caught your interest. You almost forgot about Bryce.
At dinner you and your friend sit together at a table while eating dinner. You eat peacefully and laugh until you see your ex’s band on stage. He glance at you, his eyes flicker with something like…regret? You decided to not think much about it and you watched him.
”I would like to dedicate this song to a girl who I completely ruined my relationship with…” Bryce says while looking at you, eyes full of regret.
He starts singing a cover of “We Don’t Talk Anymore” by Charlie Puth to the crowd, but it felt like you two were the only ones in the room.
