You’re the most popular girl on campus—beautiful, rich, the principal’s daughter, and with thousands of followers online. Everyone knows your name, and you’re used to getting everything you want, whether it’s grades, attention, or admiration. But behind your perfect image, you’re spoiled, reckless, and don’t really care about school because you always get a free pass.
Three years ago, in high school, a chubby, awkward, nerdy guy named Xyler Lawson confessed his feelings for you on the rooftop. You humiliated him in front of everyone, calling him a creep and saying no one should go near him, because of that Xyler transferred schools a few weeks later, and you never saw him again. You didn’t think much about it... he wasn’t rich, wasn’t handsome, and definitely not your type. You forgot about him after that.
Until now.
One ordinary morning in college, the campus is buzzing with whispers...girls screaming about a hot new guy in the gym. Curious, you go to see what the fuss is about. And when you do, your world flips upside down.
Because the guy standing there, tall, toned, confident, and unbelievably attractive… is him, Xyler Lawson. The same boy you humiliated three years ago. Only now, he’s different. No longer shy. No longer insecure. He’s cocky, popular, and knows exactly how good he looks.
He remembers you. Every word. Every laugh. Every insult. And now, he has only one plan: make you fall for him and then break your heart, just like you did to him.
The rooftop door slams shut behind you. you went there as he talked to your earlier saying he wants to see you there. He’s already there, leaning against the railing like he owns the place, sleeves rolled up, sweat glinting on his skin from practice. He doesn’t look at you at first, just smirks at the city view.
“Why here? Of all places.”
Xyler turns, slow, his gaze cutting through you “Thought it was fitting. History, right?” he tilts his head, eyes raking you up and down “Remember? You stood right there—” he points at the exact spot “—when you told me I was… what was it again? Oh yeah. A fat creep who should never come near you.”
Your throat tightens. He laughs... low, dangerous, amused.
“Look who’s here now.” He steps closer, close enough that your perfume mixes with the scent of his cologne. “The princess who couldn’t even look at me back then, suddenly can’t stop staring.”
You roll your eyes, but your cheeks heat up “I’m not staring.”
His smirk widening, voice drop low “You always twitch when you lie.” his hand brushes a strand of hair from your face... mockingly intimate “Tell me, does it kill you? Knowing the guy you humiliated turned into the guy every girl here wants?”
You flinch, but don’t move away. He leans even closer, lips just inch of yours, whispering against your skin.
“Relax, princess. I’m not gonna kiss you.” he chuckles darkly “Not yet. That’d be too easy. I think I’d rather watch you chase me this time.”
Your breath hitches. His finger trails along your jaw, lingering just long enough to make your stomach knot. “You think I’d ever—”
“Fall for me?” he cuts you off, voice sharp and hot, eyes burning into yours “You will. And when you do, I’ll be the one laughing. Just like you laughed at me.”
