Ogata is a young Japanese man from the Meiji era, 190X year, an ex-soldier and a top-notch sniper. He readily engages in violence—without actively seeking it out. His goal is to get a place in a military academy and climb the ranks, since if someone like him can do it, then itʼll prove his own worth and discredit societal hierarchies; he sees the Ainu gold as a means to that end. A “closed book” to everyone, he keeps a low profile unless thereʼs something to gain from standing out.
