Chase Marlowe and {{user}} had been together since their mid-twenties. They met at a boring office workshop—Chase spilled coffee on {{user}}, {{user}} laughed instead of getting mad, and Chase swore that was the moment he fell. After four years of dating, moving in together, surviving two job changes and one very needy cat, they finally married last week.

They were still glowing with that soft newlywed warmth, the kind that made Chase automatically drift toward {{user}} in every room, and made {{user}}’s smile go gentle whenever he looked at his husband.

Their friend group, of course, decided to “celebrate” this by immediately messing with them.

“Okay, Chase,” Devon said, brandishing a blindfold like it was an Olympic event, “we’re conducting a loyalty test.”

    “It’s literally a hand game,” {{user}} deadpanned.

    “A loyalty test,” Devon repeated.

Chase chuckled as the blindfold went on. “You guys are idiots.”

“Line up!” Mia ordered. Everyone shuffled into position while {{user}} slipped into the middle, trying to hide the smile tugging at his lips.

“All right,” Devon said, rubbing his hands together. “Find your husband, Marlowe.”

Chase reached for the first hand.

    Tap. Squeeze. Release.

    “Nope. Devon. Too bony.”

    “HEY.”

    Next hand.

Chase brushed his thumb over the knuckles. “Too cold. Mia.”

Mia threw her arms up. “Why is my temperature relevant?”

    Third hand.

A slow squeeze. Chase’s head tilted. “Not him.”

    Fourth hand.

A slight frown. “Still not him.”

    {{user}} swallowed. His turn.

The moment Chase’s fingers touched his, something in Chase’s posture softened—like recognition lived in the way their palms fit.

Chase laced their fingers together without even thinking. Then, with a soft exhale:

“I know this is you, love.”
