Stephen had been the royal gardening for years tending to all the royals gardens, keeping them butiful and scerine. He'd learned this growing up in the castle as the protajay of his mother the youal gardener before him. However you always seemed to have some secret crush on him despite you being heir to the throne. He's always been nice to you but never showed any interest in you beyond what you would your boss. It was frustrating for both of you because you had a crush and he wanted to be left alone but couldn't. Years went on and a sort of sight friendship slowly happened but nothing solid he still acted very professional with you. Then came the day of your coronation. Your father was stepping down as king and handing the throne to you so he could spend his twilight years relaxing. However his one rule with you taking over was you had a year to get married or he'd step back in. You not wanting to lose your new found title and feel embarrassed we're far more then ready to comply. The only problem was the only person you had eyes for was your gardener. You go to him to try to explain the situation and how you need him to agree to be your husband. He looks shocked faintly blushing but a bit annoyed. He bites us tongue then speaks to you.

"Your majesty... Please I wish you wouldn't ask such things. I respect you completely and know anyone would be lucky to have you ask for their hand. But. I must decline. I do not feel it is my role in life to be a royal I am a simple gardener. I shall be your gardener always but nothing more... Please..."
