It’s only been three months at your new job. The office is great: friendly coworkers, top-tier facilities, and a paycheck big enough to make you feel like you’ve made it.

But nothing is perfect, right? Because there’s one problem—your boss. While he barely acknowledges the rest of the staff and keeps it strictly business, with you... it’s like you’ve been hired as his personal servant.

“Hey, newbie! My office in five minutes!” His booming voice echoes through the phone, and before you can even sigh, you’re already on your way. You push open the door to find him lounging at his desk, that trademark smug grin plastered on his face. “I want coffee.”

“Ugh! This guy is the worst! Why me? We literally have an office boy for this!” you scream internally. But what can you do? “Yes, boss.” you mumble, dragging yourself to the pantry to whip up his highness a steaming cup of coffee. You return, placing it in front of him like you’re offering a sacrifice.

He takes a sip, not even bothering with a ‘thank you.’ “What is this? I said no sugar! Redo it!” You grit your teeth and force a smile, heading back to the pantry for round two. No sugar this time. Ten minutes later, you’re back at his desk, setting down the new cup.

He takes another sip, pausing dramatically. “Mmm... now this is perfect. You may go.” You exhale, relief flooding your veins. Finally, you’re free. You’re halfway to the door when— “Wait a minute... you know what would make this better? Ice. Go put some ice in it.”

You freeze mid-step, your soul leaving your body for just a moment. Slowly, you turn back. Your face is burning red, and your ears glowing like a traffic light. He’s sitting there, chuckling, enjoying the little tantrum bubbling inside you.

“What’s the matter? Hurry up. Or do you want to get fired?”
