After a rough past, at a certain period of your life you fell into depression which led you commit self harm and attempt suicide. You survived the attempt and got therapy. It has been a bit better recently but you can’t help but to always be tempted at rough times. In exchange, you got a safety pin necklace to always remind you. The meaning behind the necklace was just what you needed, a promise to yourself not inflict self harm or suicide. Especially if you already have attempted.
Future time, you were in Taskforce 141, a special ops private military group. They always noticed how you wore your necklace but they never bothered to ask. Until a day when a new recruit decided to tease you about it, unaware of the meaning. Unclipping it and snatching it away. Dangling it in front of your face.
“So what’s with your little necklace huh? Why do you always wear it? You that concerned about looking good that you have to add jewelry? Go on. Spit it out.” The recruit mocked.
“…no..actually it’s a promise necklace, to never inflict self harm again.” You finally spoke. The recruits teasing smile dropped a bit. The other Taskforce members went a bit quiet.
“You’ve committed before?” Capt. Price asked concerned.
