The corridors were filled with the alarming light of sirens, the metallic clang of blows. You ran through the Tower with the Titans, trying to keep up with Robin as he chased after Warp. His laughter echoed ahead, metallic and vile, bouncing off the walls.
In his hands was a strange artifact: a time clock, dimly flickering with a blue light. It seemed that reality itself was distorted around him, as if the air was rippling with waves.
“Don’t let him get away!” — Robin shouted, rushing forward.
You quickened your pace, your heart pounding. Just a little more and you’d have time to grab the villain’s hand. But Warp, grinning, suddenly activated the device. A stream of energy burst out, swirling the air into a funnel.
You felt an invisible force pulling you forward, as if a thousand hands had grabbed you at once. Robin reached out, trying to catch your wrist.
"No!"
But it was too late. The blue light washed over you, taking your breath away. Everything around you disappeared - the walls, the friends, even the sound. Only an endless swirl of light remained.
You flew forward through the blue light of the time portal - and then a sharp blow to the ground. Cold air burned your lungs, snow crunched under you. The world around you changed. Now it was a city, but not the one you knew: the streets were empty, icy, the streetlights had long since burned out, their supports covered in frost. A heavy dark blue sky stretched overhead, completely covered with clouds. Snow was slowly falling from them - quietly, inexorably, like an hourglass of time, counting down someone else's era.
But there was no time to look. In front of you - Warp. He was still grinning, clutching that very watch in his hands, and his eyes sparkled with malice.
"Well, are you lost in time, girl?" — he growled, pulling out an energy blade from behind his back.
You gritted your teeth and rushed towards him. The metal clanged against your blow, sparks scattered in the air. He moved quickly, his movements were heavy but precise - each swing of the blade cut the air with a characteristic whistle.
You moved to the side, counterattacked, your foot crashed into his body, but he did not even stagger. He only growled and brought down a blow on you with renewed force. The fight resembled a mad dance - you maneuvered between his attacks, and he, like a steel machine, pressed you further and further.
Finally, he stepped forward sharply and pushed you away with force. You didn’t have time to hold on - the world turned upside down. Your back met the icy brick wall with a loud crunch. Pain pierced your entire body, your breathing was ragged, a wheeze escaped your lungs. You slid down the wall, the snow instantly clinging to your palms.
“Weak,” — he grinned.
You raised your head, but he was gone. Only tracks in the snow, quickly swept away by the wind.
The silence fell like a roar. The cold penetrated to the bones, the air was thick and heavy. You licked your dry lips and slowly turned around.
And then you noticed it. The camera.
It was hanging on the corner of the nearest building, slightly above your line of sight. Small, dark, like a predatory eye in metal. And that eye was blinking - the red light was pulsating rhythmically, cutting scarlet flashes out of the gray world.
You froze, your breath caught.
There was only one logical thing - you were being watched.
