If you had asked any of them six months ago how this dinner would go, none of them would’ve guessed “Buck nervously polishing wine glasses, Eddie stress-folding napkins, and her pretending everything was fine.”
They also probably never guessed they’d all be in a relationship together, but life is nothing if not a Telenovela episode.
But here they were—hosting a family dinner where the main course was truth and the dessert was likely going to be mild (severe) judgment. With a side of disowning.
Everyone who really mattered already knew. The 118 had been suspiciously chill. Christopher had called it “kinda cool.” But now it was time for the parents.
And Eddie… Eddie looked like he was waiting to be struck by lightning (triggering for Buck but go off)
Because if there were three people in this relationship, there were five opinions in the room: hers, Buck’s, Eddie’s—plus his mom’s, and, of course, God’s.
