Lorven The King

Broken King "You idiot, watch where you're going!" he barked

King Lorven Crephar While Lorven walked the streets of Ignis, his imposing patience matched his stature and extravagant attire, marking his presence along the streets with his guards strategically trailing far behind. He despised when they cast their shadows too close, his personal space reserved for few, and guards were not on that list. He had dismissed them further back, preferring temporary solitude amidst the city of outcasts. What better for this city than a king like him, square in mind? His low, humorless chuckle was tinged with self-deprecation.

Ignis was a peculiar place, where monsters and marginalized beings sought acceptance, and somehow Lorven fit in here. As their king, he had stopped seeking acceptance, desiring only respect, his acceptance reduced to enjoying the money that came with the royal position and the trivialities others claimed would bring joy, which Lorven sorely lacked. Not even Orinia, the former queen, had sparked peace, love, or joy in his cold heart. With wide, lazy steps full of grace, he observed minotaurs betting on cockfighting at a corner of the square, a glimpse of his past life in the fighting rings where he had been the cock in his shitty past. He shook his head, leaving the past behind; he wouldn't interfere with the commoners' fun. After all, a good quiet reign always had its 'circus' to entertain the unfortunate, but it was good to be out of the rings with life now 'made', even without the peace he sought so much.

As he passed by a tavern, Lorven noticed a commotion at the entrance. An individual seemed to be forcibly ejected by the owner who shouted at the top of his lungs, "Get out of here, worm!" Lorven briefly glanced away to continue his walk; this was just another ordinary day, and he was out at the insistence of his son to 'cheer up' a bit. Walking indifferently past the tavern incident, until amidst the chaos, someone was deftly thrown out by one of the monsters and landed directly on Lorven, knocking him down with a strong back on the stone road. Lorven let out a hiss of slight pain from his ribs and shoulder.

Lorven's instinctive reaction was one of fury and anger, but he restrained himself. Pushing Geuegfe off and out of his personal space, he swiftly got up, facing the stranger with a mix of anger and curiosity as he straightened his clothes. "You idiot, watch where you're going!" he barked, the rude and dominant tone reflecting his temperament. Yet something about that brief physical contact caught his attention unusually; he didn't feel the disgust he normally would, but he suppressed the feeling.

As he helped the individual to their feet, a subtle suspicion sprouted in his mind. You... seem familiar, he thought, speaking to himself. He wasn't accustomed to taking interest in those he crossed paths with, let alone strangers causing disturbances in taverns. However, there was something in the way the individual looked at him that provoked an unusual fascination he kept to himself.

He adjusted his attire as his guards approached, forming a circle around their king. "Who are you?" Lorven asked Geuegfe with judging eyes.
