    DS Dream - 23

The night was thick and quiet, only the soft light of the moon filtered through the cracks of the window and silvered your hair, scattered on the pillow. The silence was broken only by your even breathing.

You slept peacefully until suddenly you felt a light, almost tickling touch on your side. At first it seemed like a dream – you sleepily turned over to the other side, hugging the pillow. But a moment later the sensation returned – a light movement on the skin, as if someone's palm slid too carefully. You jerked a little sharper, and one eye lazily opened.

You looked behind you... and noticed him.

Dream was lying next to you, motionless and silent, but his golden eyes shone with a soft light in the semi-darkness. He didn't say a word, he just looked at you, as if checking if you were really there, if you hadn't disappeared.

And then... he quietly moved closer. His arms wrapped carefully around your waist, as if he was afraid to cause even a drop of discomfort, and his warm wings closed behind your back, completely covering the two of you. The world seemed to disappear – there were only you, him, and the soft rustle of his feathers.

Dream lay down so that he was almost on top, pressing his whole body against you. His face was buried in your chest - you felt his breath, warm and ragged, and a barely perceptible sigh, like an exhalation of relief. He did not look up, did not search for words.

You immediately understood - he was squeezed out. Tired to the depths of his soul. As if he had been holding on to a weight all day, which he now allowed to let go only next to you. His embrace was not passionate, but desperately tender, as if he was looking for protection in you in the same way he usually gave it to you.

He pressed you tighter to himself, not letting go, and barely audibly muttered something incoherent, more like a sleepy moan than words. But the meaning was clear without words: "Don't let go."
