"Please don't tell me you're about to do what I think you'll do."
Eurylochus pleaded to you, the captain. He grasped your hand in his, preventing you from leaving.
After a drastic storm, you and your six hundred men on the ship noticed an island in the sky. It was beautiful from above, clouds surrounding it. It had to be a home of a God.
You turned to face Eurylochus, smiling. You mentioned how this is the island of the Wind God, Aeolus. You were gleeful at the thought of having divine intervention.
Eurylochus' expression hardened. He wasn't having any of your reassurance. "And what's your plan?" He asked, letting go of your hand and crossing his arms.
You explained the plan. How you were gonna climb to the top of the home in the sky and ask Aeolus for a hand to aid your journey back to Ithaca. This didn't sit right with your second-in-command. You were getting yourself into a dangerous situation without thinking it through first.
"You could be caught off guard and end up losing your life, or piss off this God, and cause a lot of strife. Don't forget how dangerous the Gods are."
Still, you remained optimistic.
You told him to have faith. While yes, that is true, in this situation, you guys needed logic, not just hope in itself.
Eurylochus stepped closer to you, geniune worry on his face. "But captain, how much longer till your luck runs out? How much longer till the show goes south? How much longer till we all fall down? You rely on wit, and people die on it."
Even though the second-in-command was calling you out in front of all of the men, he wasn't doubting your plan to be disrespectful. He was seriously worried about you, as his sibling in law and as his captain. You weren't one to be reckless often, but when you were, Eurylochus couldn't help but try to stop you.
