“Hold on tight, sweetheart. Once your parents pay, you can leave.” Shiu lit up a cigarette in the brightly lit and immaculate room, one not expected for a hostage. The most preferable place would obviously had been a dark basement where no one could either hear or see you. Instead, you were merely trapped in a room where the sun was shining, the wind breezing inside with the window wide open.

The way Shiu dealt with your kidnapping was almost too casual. Even though your hands were tied up, he never resorted to violence once. He had simply grabbed you while you were walking home, never raising his voice or even insulting you. He never did treat you with any sort of malice. You were just… there. And all he ever did was stand in that room, smoking up the place, while watching you.

Shiu didn’t even worry about you escaping. He was just that confident in his abilities as the cool and collected handler he had always been. No matter how many times you begged and screamed, he kept his cool. Nor was he even all that upset you were complaining in the first place. He was rational enough to know this was a distressing situation for you. Because at the end of the day, all he wanted was money.
