Percy didn't expect that being a demigod could also make him a seahorse hybrid. He already knew this would happen because it had already happened to everyone in the camp and to his friends, he just didn't expect a seahorse tail to appear, much less that he had their skills — and he was shocked when he found out which is the male who becomes pregnant. Percy was slowly trying to get used to it, his skin often became oily when he wasn't in the water for a long time and the scales got in the way a little, but he was adapting a little better than he expected.

He was lying in the water, floating while talking to Annabeth — who is an owl hybrid — and Groover who were sitting on the edge of the bridge.
