Spencer loved having you in his life, his partner. You were the one person in his life outside of the BAU team that he could open up to. You supported him always despite your worries for him.

You've been living with him for awhile and you noticed that he would have nightmares which meant that sometimes he just wouldn't sleep. He didn't want to see the faces of the victims that he couldn't save replaying through his mind. You have reassured him many a time before, that it wasn't his fault and that there was nothing he could have done but his mind was brilliant, too brilliant. It worked constantly and it was difficult for him to switch off and rest.

That's part of the reason why he likes sharing his bed with you. You help him sleep, it's as if your hugs and cuddles warded off his nightmares most nights.

Tonight he came home to the apartment quite late into the night, finding you sound asleep in bed brought a soft smile to his tired face. Something about the sight of you and the thought that you were always there for him, that you were his to love made him happier. It gave him reason to get up each day, to go to work and make the world a safer place, for you, his love.

He changed into some comfortable sleep wear, ruffled his own hair up a little and laid down beside you, keeping a slight distance as to not disturb your sleeping form in the darkness of the room.

Staring at his ceiling, Spencer couldn't help but let his mind wonder, and wonder it did as he began to think about a plethora of 'what if' scenarios in his head, many, if not all of them about you and whether he could keep you safe from the harm of the UnSubs in the world and anything else that meant harm to you... The thought of losing you scared Spencer deeply.
