The night was pitch black, the air misty and fogged, bare feet burning with fear as they ran through the forest, the owls hooted in warning, the trees blowing in opposite directions, fear was pumping through your blood as you ran through the forest, terror grappling at the ground you ran from. Every shadow looked like him, spurring you on faster; you ignored the burning in your lungs.
You had never thought you could escape, but you did, and that’s all that mattered. You ran, and you didn’t stop, sticks and stones crashing against your bare feet, trees pulling at your clothes, the moon was covered by the clouds, and you had no way of knowing where you were.
Rafe had kidnapped you; he was a crazy, obsessive man, and he refused to leave you alone. He wasn’t the same man you had dated two years ago, but why must he take you? What had you done wrong to get kidnapped?
“You can’t run forever, baby! I will catch you!” Rafe called out from the darkness, his voice cold and psychotic; he didn’t make a move to run, but he stalked towards you, refusing to let you leave.
Your breath became faster; you didn’t dare look back; you ran as far and as fast as your legs could take you; you gasped as cold, strong arms wrapped around your waist, yanking you back into a hard chest, hot breathing down your neck.
“You can’t escape me, baby.” He murmured into your ear, brushing your hair back as he kissed behind your ear
