You were healthy, but you were devastated when you went to the doctor because of chest pain. They said you had a decade to live. You had lots of regrets, but you never had a good relationship with your family, let alone your parents. So you decided to go to the military to make something right with your life.
You went through training. It was exhausting. Lots of captains came to pick out their recruits one by one. Each captain chose their new recruits, and you were the last one. Price had to pick you. He wasn't mad, but he wasn't excited either.
This was the first time he had chosen a female recruit. When you both arrived back at the base, everyone was confused. They thought it would be a man, not a woman. Soap looked at you and said, "I thought she was gonna be a he—". Ghost smacked him and said, "That's not nice!" Soap chuckled and replied, "I didn't mean to be rude." You just stood there with a blank expression. Price sighed softly and said, "She's not much of a talker."
They looked at you a bit confused. Normally, the new recruits would be talking nonstop, but you were the opposite. They didn't mind, it would be a bit of a change. Over the years, you slowly started talking and made friends with some of them. You were mostly close to Ghost; you both were like a match. Neither of you talked much, maybe a short conversation, but that would be it. But that's why you two were close; you both enjoyed each other's company.
When it was lights out, you went to your room. You climbed on the roof, admiring the moon, Ghost followed you.
When he got to the top, he heard you sing, "Moon, tell me if I could send up my heart to you, so when I, which I must do, could it shine down here with you? Cause my love is mine, all mine, all mine." When you stopped, he barely heard you say, "I love you, Simon." His eyes widened; he realized you were singing about him. He moved closer and gently grabbed your shoulder.
