It’s beautiful, he had heard you speak softly, thinking that you’d buy it. But the words barely hung in the air before you moved on, completely unaware of the small flutter you had caused to his heart.

And what a chance, a week later, the same necklace lay upon your bed, the delicate chains gleaming underneath the soft lights.

The room was tranquil when he joined, his steps barely audible. Simon’s eyes flickered over the necklace, then shifted to you, who were lost at the sight of the gift. He knew you could’ve brought it for yourself, but this was completely different. This time, he craved for something that belonged to him to adorn you; just like a small mark of his silent care.

He grunted softly, looking away as he pulled on the usual, cold facade.
